soccer season
this year has by far been the most successful season I've had with Slippery Rock Womens soccer. We have achieved so much this year that we were no where near achiveing last year. Our season started off very slow and it took us a while to get out momentum but when we did there was nothing stopping us. We went on a streak of 15 games unbeaten to make it to the PSAC semi finals. It was a huge game against the no.4 ranked team in the country. Even though we went 1-0 down a couple of minutes before the first half we rallied back and tied it at 1-1. We even went ahead in the 2nd half with 8 minutes to go but were unfortunate to concede an let our lead slip. The game went into penalties and in the end we were unluky and lost. But we were proud of how far we had gotten and even make the National play offs, easily seeing off WVW in our 1st round and yet again in the 2nd round we were the more unfortunate team to lose on penalties again. Overall we had an unbelievable successful season and have nothing to be ashamed of.

Sounds like a good season. I wish I went to more then just the two games. I miss playing soccer a lot and it was fun to go to games where I actually know some of the players on the pitch. Next year I'll go to more games for sure! Great job on the season!
ReplyDeleteFrom the sounds of it not only did you guys play well but you also enjoyed playing. Enjoying whatever sport you're playing is extremely important. Why do anything you don't enjoy! The team was amazing this past season. Good job on that and I hope next season is just as great for you.
ReplyDeleteI went to a few of the womens games this year. This is my third year here and this years team was by far the best one i've seen up here yet. It seems like youll be returning a lot of starters next season. Hopefully this will make for a successful season next year as well. Bring home the PSAC championship!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree Emer. It was a brilliant year and was like a rollercoaster! I know how much you love rollercoasters!:) A 15 game unbeaten record which bet the schools leading record by 4 aswell! I think this year was a great year but I believe next year will be even better because we had such a young side this year and we are all together again. I believe we are a real team and with a great Irish leader to captain us I feel the PSAC trophy will be in our dressing room at the end of the year!
